How you both met: We originally met at a Super Bowl party in February of 2005 that a mutual friend hosted. We would see each other during that winter and spring, and were loosely in touch through the mutual friend, but then lost touch of each other. In January of 2011, Bill reached out via Facebook, and discovering that we lived in the same neighborhood, he suggested that we meet for a drink – and that rekindled our romance!
Your proposal: The night before Thanksgiving. Marthe was hosting both sets of parents the next day, and Bill came over to help peel potatoes (literally). As Marthe was eating crackers and saying “What should we have for dinner?” Bill walked across to the kitchen and dropped to one knee.
Style/Inspiration for your wedding: Vintage-garden party meets the most fun ever. All of the details are romantic, like a big rose garden, but we want the vibe of the night to be a big, relaxed dance party.
